Three ways to remain consistent with your socials over summer

If you are planning on juggling childcare over the summer months or perhaps looking to take a bit of break from work to enjoy the (hopefully) warmer days, you may be wondering how you can continue to market your business even if you are not sitting in front of a screen.

Here are three top tips to help you ensure your social media does the hard work for you over the summer!

1. Reuse your best-performing content

However you are sharing content to socials, whether directly to the platform or via a scheduling tool, use the analytics available to you to explore the style, dates and timings of posts that performed best for you. Look at how you can best reuse this content. Maybe you want to refresh the image (if using one) or tweak the copy slightly? Don’t be afraid to reuse what works best for you as this saves you from having to come up with completely new content, all the while helping to improve your SEO.

Look into the content you have already that could become ‘evergreen’ meaning it remains relevant whenever it is shared during the year.

2. Give one piece of content multiple chances to shine!

Have you written a blog? Break the blog down into various social media posts. Have you recorded a video? Use the key points raised in the video to turn into a blog! You can even use a transcription service like otter.io to make it really easy. It is amazing how much content you can create from one idea. Have you done some static social media posts that you could turn into reels or quick videos of you talking about the content?

3. Be real!

If you are used to sharing content multiple times a week but are unsure how you can maintain the same level over the summer months, don’t worry! If you are consistent with your content you don’t need to be posting daily.

If you are taking time off over the summer to focus on family or yourself, don’t be afraid to share that on socials. People want to know you, the face behind your brand and they may benefit from knowing that they are not the only ones juggling multiple commitments at this time of year.
